A note from the principal...
Welcome to the 2025-26 school year!
Greetings from the middle school! For those of you who may not know me, I am the Big Spring Middle School principal, Mrs. Clarissa Nace. Prior to coming to middle school, I was Newville Elementary Principal for 3 years. I am entering my 8th year as the middle school principal.
As we gear up for the 2025-26 school year, I feel confident that our teachers will be able to deliver on a content-rich curriculum, while embracing the social/emotional needs of our students. I look forward to welcoming back all of our students into our building on Tuesday, August 26th, where their health and safety will remain our #1 priority. Our schedule embraces the needs of all of our students while always striving to make their middle level experience both engaging and academically challenging.

On a more personal note, I am a principal who loves to frequent events to cheer-on and support all of our students in their extracurricular activities, just as I cheer-on and support my son, Jacob...who is going-on his 4th year of college to be a surgical technician in the operating room. How time flies! Another important family member to us is our service/therapy dog, Lincoln. Lincoln is owned by the district, but he goes home with me each evening, as I am his primary handler. Lincoln is blessed to have 6 additional handlers at BSMS: Ms. Sprecher, Mrs. Craig, Mrs. Shutt, Mrs. Beamer, Mrs. McIntire, and Ms. Hangen! I reside in Shermans Dale, PA with my husband (Kurt) and son (Jacob)...and Lincoln! As a family, we love to travel and spend time with family and friends.
